I can't say all are fake or fantasy without having them in my hand, but most *90% at least* are! Most states didn't use the button copies in the 2nd pic. The top picture has a lot of SR 66s (OK, KS, TX), so that in of itself is not consider "original" as original are US route shields not State Route markers. The US 66 shield in the top pic is made out of diamond reflective sheeting only made after US 66 was last decommissioned. At that point, for me, the well is poisoned enough where I go elsewhere if I want something other than a decorator piece.

Here is a great site that helps with what they "should" look like: https://www.aaroads.com/shields/browse.php

Looking for National Old Trails Road Signs NOTR and Arizona State/US Route and Road Signs.
