I would like to repaint the Capolite body to better match my pump color. I had just planned on using a scotch pad to roughen up the plastic surface a little, prime it and then spray some paint on it. Has anyone repainted one before ?

Thanks

CAPCO bodies are only around $25. Simpler to just buy the color you need.

It won't take long for your repainted CAPCO to start losing its paint if it's out in the weather - or if you light it up often.

The one that I have is a new red one but there more than likely only one color red that is made.

If you are looking for an exact color match, then just paint a metal body.

If painting this plastic one doesn't workout, then I will have to get a metal one and paint that.

Painting a CAPCO globe and having it light up well will be hard. You can scratch it up with a scotchbrite pad but I'd clean it very well with lacquer thinner or something similiar. They sell adhesion paint to plastic promoters that I would use as well. Biggest problem is that it'll light up horribly after being painted unless you use special sign translucent paint. Normal paint will light up badly.

Painting metal body works well. Personally, I like polishing the aluminum bodies, looks sharp.
