My original plan was to put a shoebox on this pump but tried a couple globes for pictures. It looks good with a globe as well as a shoebox. What is you preference? Lead sign on door or side? Fake patina sign or clean looking sign?

I vote for Shoebox with old sign on front and leaded on side. Looks great.

I'm with Pete (muntzman), but each option looks terrific. If my true preference be known, I'd like to see the pump in my collection but I don't believe that was a option.

shoebox, clean sign, lead on the front... pump paint looks too nice for the patina sign, imo

Matt, I'm sort of with Randy on this. Globe, leaded on side plus a clean sign on front. You can't go wrong with anything you like!

If you were a dealer back in the day, and you wanted to purchase the above pump from Bennett you could order it painted and ready to go. The lead signs were also supplied by Bennett, but where they went depended on what state you lived or even what county or city. Many of the locations had laws as where the lead sign should be on the pump. No laws, the lead signs were usually put on the sides to give more room to the decals or pump signs to be put on the front. Laws, then the lead signs went on the front.

I'm partial to "the Shoebox" and the placement of signage in photo # 6... But, as Sgt. Shultz used to say.... "I know nothing"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
