Keith,
I never get near glass with a torch. Maybe I'm too timid but I always worry I'll break the glass. I think the sight glass is made of borosilicate (same stuff as Pyrex I think) but still I'm too afraid I'll break the glass. What exactly have you tried tool-wise? Can you send a pic of the tools you're using "in action" so I can see what you're going at the sight glass with? Mine was pretty tight but with the removal tool and a 3 lb sledge I was able to get them loose.

VICTORY! I ended up getting one of those camping type propane tanks and heated the nut up. Came off without too much trouble after that. It did catch my WD-40 on fire that I had sprayed on and that probably helped too. LOL.

Ok I got a problem, the external nut took 2 minutes to get off with heat and a wrench on mine but the ring inside that holds the glass in is fighting me big time, any help!!

Make a tool that fits into the slots using a piece of flat bar and an old socket. Lube the threads and let them soak for as long as needed. PB blaster works good, 50/50 mix of Coke and ATF works good as well.

(sorry about the edit above, I hit the edit button instead of the quote button)LOL

Cool, I've done heat and and a screwdriver with no luck and a big hammer with no luck, so I'll soak it and do the bar thing!!
Thanks
