My dad, brother and nephew made a road trip once from Ohio to Colorado to get a Sinclair sign. They stopped by Whiteman AFB in Missouri on the way to pick me up. We went the rest of the way and ended up buying several more items. Saw three collections that trip, met some good people. I still have a sign I got that time. Some good memories. We also stopped in Sinclair Wyoming on the way out to see the Sinclair refinery.

Took me 2 days..Got the girl, and the flu too. Spent 2 weeks with her recovering and soon realized we weren't meant to be. Drove home by myself and glad I did.Years later her & her fiancé got in a fight & she shot him in the knee. She went to jail & I never heard from her again. He still limps.. Drove 8 hours from Michigan to Upper Wisconsin to pick-up a pump. When I got there the pump was gone, sold to another for $150.00 more than what he quoted me. Half way back home stopped in a small town and bought a visible, loading the pump the guy helping lost grip and the pump fell on my foot, broke it. Limped for a while but not anymore. What a deal.

1400 miles Oregon to South Dakota. Back before shipping pumps was as easy as it is now. Fun trip and picked up some great pumps.

drove 1300+ miles from Templeton MA to Memphis TN to deliver a few neon signs for $600. Did it for the road trip not the money, zig zagged our way back and found a few goodies along the way. This was in the early 90's when you found things as you went, No contacts via facebook ahead of time.

2,546 km or 1,591 miles for the metrically challenged. Calgary to Santa Paula, one way, to get a pump and meet Dick Bennett. Came home with a beater pump and a few DB stories. Well worth the trip. Stellar neon btw Jim!

I drove From Chicago To McAllen Tx. for a Wayne Gas pump in 1985. The pump was basically free, but the 3 day trip sure wasn't. 1500 miles 1 way...Oh to be that young & adventurous again.

drove 1400 miles round trip for an A38 once, got there and one side was bashed in. definitely not worth it!
driving 1000 miles round trip tomorrow to buy a sign that I'm most likely paying too much for! LOL
never let the mileage be the reason for not buying an item (or at least thats what I always tell myself)
