It has been quite a winter, we usually get no snow and if it does snow it's gone in a day or two. We haven't had an accumulation of snow like this in about 10 years. Overnight we had freezing rain and this is what my yard looked like this morning. The weight of the ice causes the frozen tree branches to snap and fall to the ground. Forecast is for warmer weather...I wait to clean up all the branches. This is a very small sampling of all the fallen branches. I live on 4 1/2 acres will probably take a few days to clean up the mess.

The vehicles in the driveway are covered and encased in a sheet of ice.

Actually took the power out for the whole town for a few days also. Was eerie driving down town and seeing all the signage ,street lights and shops dark. Had to drive to the next town for coffee and Gas. Good luck with the limbs took weeks to clean up .

We have had all the same stuff there Dave. The freezing rain does tremendous damage here on the trees and roads. Sure looks pretty though.

Dave our weather just broke. Hit 40 today. Had snow with 1/4" of ice on top. The body shops should do very well this winter. Richard

Finally, it's raining and the snow is mostly gone.
Power failures are a major issue around here as well. Fortunately, they don't affect me. After 4 seconds of power loss. This John Deere, 6 cylinder turbo diesel, 60 Kilowatt generator kicks in and automatically kicks out once the power is restored. It's kind of overkill for the two houses and shops on my property. It's large enough to power a subdivision.
