Back in the early 70's Shell had a promotional give away with Hot Wheels cars called ZOWEES. They were miniature versions of hot rods.

Does anybody know of any promotional displays that went along with the campaign?

I have the cars but would like the display or signs as well.

They were available in retail store as well but in a slightly different version.

Thanks for putting up pics. There most have been point of sale promotional advertising for this product give away? At the pumps?

I have other later (80's/90's) displays/ signs for Hot Wheels promotions with Shell and other gas companies.

You can tell the Shell ones from the retail version by the tow hook on the back.

Shell versions had the tow hooks. There are other subtle differences between the two, the most recognizable is the large antennas on the retail versions.

Plus they were renamed in Canada, Germany, Italy as "fun buggies"

I spoke with a fellow who ran a local Shell station then. He says he remembers giving out the cars from a box on the island. He did not remember there being a display stand. He said there were promotional posters.

Looking for photos, etc from 60s era Shell-A-Rama gas station and Pal's Diner, Rt. 17 Mahwah, NJ
& US or state highway signs, shields, route markers

I had a couple of these when I was a kid, don't know how I got them since there wasn't a Shell station in North Dakota.
