I have been waiting for Aumann to get the online catalog up and sat i got my mailer. I thought cool i can look now online... 12 days before the auction and still nothing!

I would like to see everything in the auction and this is a auction killer in my opinion. I would be very mad if that was my stuff they were selling.

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

John,
I am also glad that the items selling are not mine. I called last week only to get voice mail, but did ask why and when on the pictures. I guess without Dan they have lost interest in signs and petro items. On the Matthews auction two days earlier the items have been up for awile.

Without Dan as the "point-man", I think they will slowy fade from the gas and oil stuff and stick with the farm equipment collectibles. The impact that company made over the past few years has been great though. Only time will tell if they can pull it together.

I called and talked with Linzy which took over after Dan and it looks like the pictures won't go up till the day before the auction. They don't have any pictures and the descriptions are from the consignee.

I just got in the mail today a flyer from Matthews and Aumann. Checked out both websites. Looks like about the same amount of photos up, but just a select few. No descriptions on either.

Wish I could go to both if these. You guys in Ohio and Illinios are lucky.

I am going to check the online bidder buyers premiums and see how those compare.

I remember when Rex has his auction with Aumann. He was not happy and rightfully so. Wasn't that Matthews guy with Aumann then? Just trying to remember.

59fairlane, I don't understand what you mean? If you go to aumanns site for the auction June 15 they just listed the auction today but with no pictures.
If you go to Matthews he has his June 13 auction up and has been up and he has the July auction up with pictures. Both have descriptions.

I am not trying to take sides but because i buy from both and like Dan and Kurt but aumann is going to loose internet bidders because of waiting till the last few days to posting pictures or even listing the auction online.

I don't have a horse in this race, so I couldn't care less, but to be fair, isn't the Columbus auction a straight consignment sale like Des Moines?? If that is the case, trying to get 50 different guys' pictures can be a nightmare. I generally have 10 or so consignors in my Feb. auction and sometimes it's only about 12-14 days before my auction before the catalog goes up, which is a direct result of waiting on a slowpoke or two. Granted, you could put the lots you already have pictures for, but it's a lot easier to load the catalog all at once instead of coming back in and updating daily. I know that with bidspotter, if I add or subtract lots after the catalog is listed that it can really be a hassle, even canceling absentee bids sometimes. Therefore I try not to load the catalog & pics until it's complete. I'm not trying to make excuses, just offering a different perspective. Lately, I've been trying to get EVERY lot in my possession by no later than 12-31, so I can photo them in plenty of time. Anyway, just absolutely my unbiased 2 cents....

Jarvis, June 15th auction at Aumann's is listed on their site and some pics are up. Just click on the featured photos link when you click on the link to the auction on their home page. Here's the link:
http://www.aumannauctions.com/auction_pages/featured.php?pid=280&pic=0

The auction catalog is also up and has all the pics and lots. 11 pages.

I did not see anything about it being cosignment, but it probably is. Some nice stuff listed. It's 11 days away. Seems like decent time frame.

Wish I could attend.

Seth, Thanks for the heads up on how the online auction is done.

Yes a lot of it is consignment and I know pictures are hard to get but with out pictures the online auction is about worthless. I know I wouldn't bid with out seeing it. Bad enough not being able to touch it. LOL

Guys that do these auctions in my opinion should get the pictures and descriptions up as soon as possible... month before would be great.

If it was my stuff i would want it up before 10 days before the auction.
