Hello Tom: Friday noon? As I recall most people show up Thursday afternoon and most sales are Friday morning. I'll be there with lot's of signs. We are having the house painted and I'm just not going to put a lot back up from the outside walls. I have a great die cut Good Year, about 12' wide, in two pieces, with the foot in the middle (MINT) 42" Pontiac, original Burma Shave signs, 6 foot Standard thermometer, General Petroleum and much more.

Ray, yes, Friday noon(ish). We want all the vendors there for Sat. A.M., too many leave & the "public" shows up & ask, "where's the vendors & stuff for sale? It's being advertised locally as a 1 day (Sat.) show. See you in 4 weeks!!!!

Tom:
Unfortunatley, as Ray stated too many vendors trade stuff Thursday, party on Firday and then leave before we even get there Saturday mroning. I skipped the last 2 out of frustration. I sure want to come but fuel @ $4.00 a gallon sure ****** me off when most of the vendors are gone by 10:00 am on Saturday or have all the good stuff stashed in the back of the trailer and say "I got that yesterday".
Is there any way to prevent pre sales and make it worth it for the average guy like me to make the effort? Not everybody can take a Friday off.

It's all about Priorities.
IF it was a funeral, graduation or a wedding & you wanted to go, you would take the day off.

Most of the general public is not a buyer at these shows, they are tire kickers looking for bargains to sell at the local swap meets or on ebay. 95% of all buying/selling is between collectors & dealers. If the G.P. has to pay an entrance fee on Friday, they won't go till Saturday when it's free entrance. Then complain because the vendors have left.

That's why we're doing it this way. Trying to give the "weekend guy" a shot. Dick, not all the public are tire kickers. Ted Roach has always done well on Sat., Mark & Bruce Larner stay set up & sell on Sat. etc. Can't do anything about the gas but I drive about 900 miles each way...are you really going to let a few $$ stop you from having fun?? You can go out to dinner & blow 20-???? bucks & have nothing to show for it. It's a fun show with alot of fun people, come on over. P.S. Fred & I make NOTHING on this show, there's NO admission fees, NO early buyer **** , no parking fees etc. Don't know what else to say, if nobody likes the way we're doing it, it might be the last one. Fred isn't into the gas & oil anymore but he's nice enough to open up his place for us to use. It's up to you guys to support the few shows left. (OK, soap box has been put away..)

This is BY FAR the most laid back, relaxing and fun Bash in the US. Ken and I travel to this one every year. Last year we arrived on Thursday but did not open the car to sales and waited to set up Friday morning. We will also be there Saturday morning. How many of us are really not doing the things we love because of gas prices. Not many. If you burn 50 gallons you've spent $50.00 more then in the past and if you burn 100 gallons you've spent an extra $100.00. Big deal, we spend way more then that on our toys. Come and enjoy and watch me relax. The only one who does not relax is Dennis Griffin...he never stops walking around or slowing down.

Come on Ray, I'd buy a ticket to see you relax, good thing I'm coming, I'll get to watch that event for free, I'll be bringing some of my Iowa gas finds plus a lot of other good stuff, and should be delivering Kenny's Roman It's almost finished. Cant wait...Frank
