I posted on another thread about my wife's Christmas decorating into our gas collection area and Bryce saw this in the pic, so I'm going to put it here with better pics and the back story.
This was one of my first signs when I started collecting this stuff. I got the sign out east in Franklin PA. It is a two sided sign that two framed signs were bolted together. I was also told it is one the last incandescent lite signs the Federal Sign Company made. The outer frame was a standard white porcelain and had many variations of inserts for different advertising needs.
Now here is where it gets kind of neat, years later I bought a stack of old photos of gas stations and other subject matter and when going through them at home I spotted my sign frame on this Ford dealership with the Ford insert. What are the odds of that happening?
So that's the story and I'm sticking with it.

The Ford dealership images and I still can't date the cars. If anyone can tell it would be neat to know. Les

Les, That visit was a little overwhelming!! About the only thing I remember is the cut I got on my chin from my jaw continually hitting the floor! Well that and the wonderful hospitality from you and your wife!!

Thanks for posting Les. I could tell that sign was awesome even from 30ft away in the background of a picture on my 15" computer screen!
Absolutely love it!

There's a sign that you leave well enough alone. No touch ups required. Looks great.

Terrific! I spent many Summers with my grandfather at his place in Franklin Pa. When I was a lot younger. Thus....this sign makes me think of a great little town. Good for you to own such a treasure!
Looking for early valvoline, freedom-valvoline, franklin pa items, Galena

Thanks to Scott aka romerx found this information on the Ford dealer and sent a pm to me. Thanks Scott! Now if I could figure out the year of the cars in the photo.
Illustrated City of New Bern, North Carolina, 1914
NEW BERN MOTOR CAR COMPANY.— Mr. D. H. Gaskins is the proprietor of this enterprise, which occupies location at 43 Craven Street. Mr. Gaskins is a well known business man of New Bern, having for a number of years been engaged in the bicycle industry, and since January, 1913, has devoted his time exclusively to the handling of automobiles. He has the agency for the famous Ford, which is undoubtedly the universal car. In this connection, we cannot say anything in favor of the Ford that will add anything to its already established prestige, for more Ford cars are in use today than any other make, and its merits are well known and recognized. Mr. Gaskins also has the agency for the Koehler Commercial Truck, which is a very popular one ton truck, selling for a reasonable price of $750.00. He also carries a full line of automobile accessories, supplies and repairs.

Flight control and I where in Franklin for three days and you're right, it is a great town with wonderful scenery. Of coarse that was a long time ago but we had a great time. Also spent some time in Oil City which has a ton of gas and oil history.
