This is a familiar can to some fellow Canadian members. It is a very tough can to get and since I was born in Oshawa I want one.
I have been watching this can on Ebay for several months and decided to buy it even though it was very rough. I got it on a best offer and it was less than $30 CDN shipped.
I am fairly pleased with the results. I used Oxalic Acid and soaked it for 3 hours, the majority of the rust was gone within an hour. I know from other cans I have done if left longer I could have taken more rust off, but I didn't want to risk fading the colors on the one side as they are not bad.
Its still pretty rough but will display well up on the shelf until I eventually find an upgrade.
I included before and after pics.

Chris that is amazing results. Glad to see you finally got an example that you can upgrade later on. Where do you get your oxalic acid in Canada?

I've tried your technique with mixed results. It seems to take some of the color away on the ones I've done. But it is amazing what it does to rusty chrome.
