Okay I knew this man had a PHILLIPS 66 sign and he said it was in really good condition. How many times have you heard that? Then you go and look at it and it is so-so. And the owner says, "well I thought it was pretty good considering how old it is."

So I make the 3 1/2 hr + trip and in his garage is "beautiful" Phillips 66 sign. I make him what I thought was a very fair offer, because I want the sign. So he says, "OK if I had another one would you give me the same price?" I said sure. Off to the shed we go. He didn't have another one, he has two more! All never hung as far as I can tell. He said "you want these too?" Of course I said yes. Then I asked why he had not told me he had the three. He said he didn't think I would pay as much if I knew he had so many.
Then he asked if I had interest in "the lights" that go on top of a pump. I said I don't know let's take a look. we go into the other room and up on the shelf are two SHELL clam globes. After looking at them I made an offer on those too. The pictures tell the rest of the story.
Thanks for riding along.

The stuff is still out there.

I'm going to give you a hard time. I cringe when I see those signs points setting on concrete (or in the crack).

Stu no problem I understand. They were gently placed there. In the second pictures the points are sitting on the felt "expansion joint strip". To much reflection in those pictures because of the angle, so I had to move them.

Stu I know it was in fun. But I feel the same way when I see stuff like that or a glass cylinder sitting directly on concrete at a swap meet.
