This month we will do any manufacture of short pumps. This will allow for more participation. The short pumps came out in 1947 with most manufactures taking there existing tall pumps and making a short version of it. Wayne made an attempt at a short pump in 1941 with their odd looking Wayne 100. In 1947 Wayne revised their 100 to look like a short Wayne 70 but it had a swiveling turret for the hose like their first version. The second version is a 100 A. They also had a third version with out the turret and it is the 100 B. Pump re builders started cutting down tall pumps to go with the new short pumps. If you have or see a short 39 with four ad glass it is a cut down tall 39. If you are familiar with pumps you can spot the cut down pumps, if not you may not know because they did a real good job on some of them. They were not always cut down to the same height so sheet metal does not enterchange easily. I preffer tall pumps so most of the short pumps I have owned left my collection. I still have four and here they are. The Gilbarco 1006 has a Wayne station lighter on it in case any one is curious about it. Please share what you have.

Here are the Wayne 100s. The Norwalk is a friends and the other three are from the internet. They were in past auctions. The first one is the 100, the Norwalk is a 100 A, the Supertest is a 100 B with no ad glass and the Mobil is a 100 B with ad glass.

This was my grandfathers Gilbarco farm pump that my grandma give to me in the late 1990s. As a kid my grandfather would let me add gas to the tractors with it. Even though its a common one it will always be my favorite short pump to be left as is and will be passed on to my kids.

Love the POTM threads, especially when I can participate. Here is my only shorty. A Tokheim 39. Came off of a farm north of Collyer, KS.

Nice pumps. I have always wanted one of those Canadian Gilbarcos with the ribbed trim and the Fina is cool. I have seen the glass faces before but not a complete pump.
