In the last couple years, I've picked up a few (very few) Oil Company Tobacco related adverting...

I don't smoke, so I've never paid too much attention to these items... But, once I was able to acquire a couple of Tide Water Oil affiliated items... I kept more of an eye out... But, haven't seen many items. So, I'm now wondering what is out there?

My Grandmother and some other Relatives in the 50s and 60s were Smokers... I remember them having some of these cardboard sleeves around their packs of cigs... Thrown on the dash of their cars and trucks... And the Guy's at Ziegler's Garage had them thrown all over the Garage... (Ziegler's was great... It was dark, smelled like tobacco, grease, gas and oil and it had the first "naked lady" calendar's, I ever saw)

Bob, I'm a non-smoker as well. I fail to understand; What was the purpose of using these sleeves??

They held the soft pack, to help keep it from getting crushed; A book of matches hooked over a cut-out in the back...

In theory, one didn't have crumpled/crushed cigs and they didn't have to hunt for matches when they were about to light up...

Interesting items.

Makes we want to do some research. Speedway Stations sell a brand called "Tourney" they say is "Their Brand". Started selling them after the "Starvin' Marvin" acquisition. Makes me wonder if they actually have a manufacturing interest on that brand or just a sponsor relationship.
