Is this a factory tack? It does say it made by sun. I know some of the early tacks where made by them. If so any idea what it fits? Thanks for any help. Scott

It looks like an after market tach. A factory tach would have been mounted in the dash and not on a bracket. Also, many early tachs were mechanically driven, not electric like this one. What voltage is it?

Probably mid 1950's to late 1960's vintage. They used a transmitter module that would have mounted under the hood.

I had one just like it when I was in high school. I bought it fro J.C. Whitney and put it in my 56 Chevy convertible! Oh, how I wish I still had that car! Not a factory tach!

Definitely old aftermarket, I've seen these on old cars I've worked on too, I think there pretty common. When I think sun tachs, it's almost always aftermarket.

The tach would work for rat rodders running 6s and flatheads for the nostalgic look.
