I have a lot of old items from granddads barn. Trying to figure out the value of the items he has as well as the history of them.
This is my first post so I get it right:)

We have an old Gulf sign as follows.

GULF GAS DEALER DOUBLE SIDED PORCELAIN ADVERTISING SIGN

Double sided 65” diameter porcelain sign.

LOGO WAS IN USE FROM 1920-1932. NOTE THE BLUE SLASH MARKS & NOT THE BABY BLUE SHADOW THAT CAME NEXT.

Has some rust holes and chips from bullets??
One edge has big rust spot.

Thats later than 1920-32. More like 30s-40s. The artiest gulf hanging identification sign had the baby blue drop shading, then the hash marks seen here, and then by the 50s, there was no real shading at all in the Gulf letters.

Good oil cans don't wait for people, people wait for them.

...true - this sign is most likely from the Postwar era, prior to 1955...you should be able to find a current value by checking on eBay...they are offered regularly...and I believe your sign is actually 66" in diameter...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Thanks
It is 66" that was typo.
I haven't seen many like it in my searches, other than photos, which is why I put it out here. Trying to figure out what era it is and what its worth.
Thanks for the input smile
