Hi,
this is how I solved this problem here in Sweden. I thought I could find a replacement bulb in a store that sold large thermometers for gardens. They didn't have the length I needed, but gave me the name of their vendor. This company asked for the exact measurements of the thermometer (length, max and min degrees and 0 point), and then came up with an exact replacement. For the European market, bulbs are made in Germany and Asia. Perhaps you have yours made more locally.
Good Luck!
Claes
