I would like to get some opinions on here from some Old Gassers...Would you still attend a show even if the hotel refused to allow room to room swap at night? Let's just say there would be extended hours into the evening for buying and selling in a Ballroom instead. Thanks for your input folks. Your thoughts, and GO....

Personally, I never cared for room to room. It seemed a bit on an invasion? I know it's just me but I could live without it. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

i thought room-to-room seemed like a weird way to setup... until I went to Columbus this past year - I thought it was great! it was a catalyst to more interaction among collectors. grab a beer and take a seat in a friends room and chat with people as they make their rounds.
it was enjoyable, but if it wasn't allowed it wouldn't keep me from going to the show.

I would still attend.
I like the room to room. It makes it so you can bring things that you would never being to an outdoors only show. Paper signs etc. , too much risk of damage from the elements.

At this particular hotel where a gas and oil show used to be held, someone accidently spilled oil down the inside of the wall of the elevator causing big money $$$ in clean-up cost, hazmat crew, etc...Since then, they have put millions back into renovating the entire place, it is without a doubt top notch amenities now. But when I mentioned room to room vending, they didn't wanna hear nothing about a can of oil stepping foot inside their brand new hotel rooms, LOL. That's kind of a deal breaker, I personally love room to room, especially Iowa. Thanks for the input folks.

I enjoy room to room. On the flipside, how many would attend a room to room ONLY swapmeet throughout a Hotel? As in during the winter time when Midwest outside weather sucks.
Count me in for those too..

They called a hazmat crew for oil spilled in an elevator? Guess they've never seen how much oil leaks out of an elevator gear box.
And yes, I enjoy room to room.

First time I did it this year at cto at first it was strange but the first time you see "that item" in a window it's not to bad. This year it did rain at the show so it was great to go inside and shop. I'll still go either way but it's more fun with room to room. The idea of a winter season show in a hotel would be great.
