Very Cool Steve! So did you get him collecting the gas and oil or did he get you hooked?

Wanted anything Flying A Gas, Signal Gas, Hancock oil co, and Sunland.

Looks good. The green sign is a later Texaco sign.

Thanks Dave. Glad to hear the green sign it Texaco. I'm not sure if he knew that or not. I'll have to ask him.

He had/has a large collection of Mustang die cast's. Probably about 125 or so. He also had a small collection of oil cans. About 15-20. I had actually already caught the bug from American Pickers and my first $7 Sunoco oiler and my first Sunoco pump plate from an antique show. He then gave me a Sunoco Diamond 2 gallon and since has claimed that he created the monster that I am today. But it's not true. I was already hooked! To be honest, I would almost be willing to say that his collection may not be what it is today if my involvement hadn't sparked his further dive into the hobby.

Thanks for the comments on the display. I'll let him know.

Here's mine, the earlier ones and then that one. I got mine from a Texaco dealer along with the two credit card signs.

Thanks Dave! I showed him yours. Turns out he didn't know for sure if it was Texaco so he was happy to hear that.

BTW, LOVE that farm tires sign!! Was watching one of those in a proxi auction just a week or so ago.

I have not seen the "mini Island" version of the sign, but it is the same stytle as these. And these came from a Texaco bulk plant. The original signs were built on a box or cube style frame so four signs were show on the same frame set up. Hope it is Ok to share...
