Hello OG....Would someone with more knowledge be able to tell me if this is a reproduction? This one has me a little stumped because there is shelving on the front, and I can't find other reproductions like it for comparision. On the flip side it is poorly centered and sloppy in places. Only information I could find on OG, but can't get a good enough look to compare to the genuine article: http://www.oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=513214I appreciate your time.

that is poor work! The octagons do not match up. I would not even pay $10 for it!

Thank you Dave and Robert! It is like some of my ex girlfriends...looks okay from 30 feet away, after a few beers and in low light. But get too close and whoa.....
This sign is 9 inches, and I only paid $12 to fill this little space on my wall.

Besides it being sloppy/off center what else should I look for on an original? Are the backs a different color on the originals? Are/were they commonly reproduced?
Really appreciate your input!

Aaron,Kinda like they all get pretty at closing time!I have seen original with white backs and the blue-gray backs. Most have brass grommets and with sharp graphics and ocassional roller marks on the back.Look for porcelain coating on all outside edges. The repro guys are getting better. You should be able to feel the shelving between colors.
