Its been a long wait, as I think I bought this Cities Service ad glass from Wes Hauge about 2 or 3 years ago. I bought it because the coloring was so different and vibrant, and it kind of drew my eyes to it. I figured that someday I would get a wooden mounting made for it, or if I was lucky, I would run across a lighted sign that was the right size! My luck was good on Saturday, as I had left a bid on a non working lighted sign at the same sale where I got the Ford sign. It was originally a 60's model blacklight from the hippy days, and there wasn't anyone at the sale that was interested in it, so I got it really cheap and only had to buy a new bulb. I had to cut 1/2 inch off each end of the ad glass, and it fit right in! The part I really like about it, is that its made to sit on any flat surface and will be easy to fit into my shop! Like I've always said--when it comes to the gas & Oil hobby, PATIENCE pays off! LOL

The historian side of me is not thrilled with the cutting of the glass, but the hobbyist in me loves this!! I'm with you all the way on the color!! It looks fantastic!!! It looks like it was made this way! Seems it would look cool mounted up high on a wall facing down.

The historian side of me is not thrilled with the cutting of the glass, but the hobbyist in me loves this!! I didn't like cutting it either, but it was from a newer type pump, and this was just too good an opportunity to be able to display it well, so it had to be done. There was plenty of plain green glass to trim from too, so it really didn't affect the balance of the piece.
