One of the nicest gas and oil collectors, DALE EVOY from Terrace Bay Ontario, ( at the top of Lake Superior) has passed away this past Thursday. He has been collecting for 35 years...Dale has been suffering for years with respiratory problems. I met Dale about 20 years ago at the Barrie Automotive Flea Market . We used to bid against each other on Ebay years ago and Dale very seldom missed being the high bidder. Later we spent some time together one winter with our wives in Yuma Arizona, we visited them at their home in Terrace Bay ON. and enjoyed viewing his collection. Shirley and I were invited by Dale to have a guided tour of the Oil museum in Oil Springs Ontario a few years back and he spent the whole day with us explaining the operation at North America's Oldest Oil Well.. Dale's Auction is coming up this month at Shackelton's Auction Centre in Springfield Ontario on the 25th. This will be an auction NOT to miss,, it's only too bad Dale won't be there to attend and meet all his fellow friends and collectors.. I will miss Dale very much...he was a Great friend.( he was the Best of the Best )
ps. I'm not sure how many of you guys on OLDGAS will know Dale as I don't think he was a member on here, but his auction is and will be awesome..

Truly sorry to hear of Dale's passing. From my encounters with him he seemed to a very passionate collector with many interests. Over the years I sold him a few pieces when I was selling on eBay and even bid against him on a few others. Dale usually won those battles. I used to enjoy seeing what he was bidding on and what he purchased when you could do that once upon a time on eBay. My condolences to his family and friends. Don Cooper.

Yes those were great times and ebay was so much cooler. dade9920 was Dale and him and Ron Carey (gaspump3 I think )I always had a tough time with . It was a lot more fun when we could keep tabs on each other . Dale was such a class guy.
