So over the last year I have been trying to grow my plate collection. Been really fun and I am starting to get a decent bunch of them. It is only getting harder as prices climb and the plate I don't have are scarce. So here is my wall at the moment. Plan on adding some more in the near future.
Thanks for looking
Dan

The Metro is on the list for sure.
Looking for a nice one and also a Texas region Mobilfuel to complete the USA versions. Then off to find the rare ones like the wide boarder Aircraft, the 3 marines, and the kerosene plates. I have a lot to get still

Wow! Dan that looks awesome!! And I love the red and white room to finish it all off! Let's get that globe mounted too!

BTW, what do you use as a source(s) to know exactly what you still need? You seem to speak in specifics as to what you dont have. As if fulfilling a known list. Is there no question as to what plates where made? I know with Sunoco, it seems I see a new sign every know and then that I've never seen before. I wish there was a list of some kind.

Lots of books out there Steve. I use the mobil collectors book a ton as a reference to what is available. I know some of them I have are not in the book so I know what I am looking for to an extent. I try to stick with the 13" and under plates and I am slowly working to find the 9" plates and 7 3/4" plates as well. I have seen a lot of nice collections and want to have a nice one in the future as well.
Thanks
Dan

Dan, are you sure? I thought that one was a truck 'door' sign... and the one you have pictured in your collection is the one in the picture I posted. I'm just judging by the position of the Pegasus and the shape of the shield.

I would listen to your expertise over mine with this, but when researching it when I bought mine... this was the conclusion I came to.

Bryce,
That truck you pictured is too early for the sign i have on the wall. The sign on the wall is dated IR55

ahhh... that makes sense Dan. My first thought was that the sign on that tanker was this one that I bought, but a Mobil collector told me I was wrong...

Bryce you are correct as well. Yours is a truck sign. They use both for that spot on the tanker

So Metro was a 1/2cent cheaper. My dad would have been in line for that.
