I traveled to the old downtown industrial part of St Louis mo this morning to make a pickup for a friend . Little did I know till I got there the building was the old steelcote paint factory , I got to tour the old shipping warehouse. The owner gave me one of the old nos adv. signs that was found in the warehouse. This was at 530 am , kind of a spooky place , as you can see the moon in one of the pictures and the graffiti on the upper edge of the roof! They opened in 1922 , not sure when they went out of business , the guy I met only owns a portion of the factory as the other half , hasn't been sold due to the EPA clean up requirements , he said there are large lead based holding tanks buried that will cost tens of thousands to properly dispose of ..... Jim ,maybe if you see this you might know the date it closed.

Cool story, Travis. Love the sign, especially the part where it shows the guy painting a car with a brush. smile

Wish I could have been available when you drove through our town on your way to St. Louis.
