I have an opportunity to buy a nice looking Texaco pump and need to know an honest value. Seller bought it in Washington a couple months ago and now has too many pumps and no room for this one so he is offering it to me for the same price he paid for it. Is it worth 2800 USD in this condition?

Reported to have an original 1940 pump plate and real deal ad glass from Texaco. Is it worth this price?

A nice Wayne 60 narrow, COMPLETE, with NO issues, will bring from $2200 to $2800, depending on a lot of factors that we can't see here. We can't see the other side or the face plates very well and we know nothing about the condition of the computer or inner frame rails and such, so we are left to assume.
You may well be within retail guidelines, but its high retail. Remember this-- there won't be any freight charges, and you won't have to drive your wheels off looking for one!

After all that, the major question is whether or not you like it enough that you will enjoy it after the purchase? If all the stars align-- then buy it.

Thank you KW Frith

Condition of the pump is as follows. Porcelain face plates have no chips. Ad glass is complete on both sides and is not cracked. No rust or dents to speak of and it is as much an original survivor pump as I am told you will find?

It has the original nozzle on it and one original pump plate dated 3 of 40 with no chips or damage. The back side is just as clean but appears to have an old Texaco decal which was painted over at one stage. The reset handle turns over freely and it has all original parts inside with nothing ever tampered with.

I can buy it for the same money the seller bought it for and if I purchase the pump would like to keep it complete as it was found. It would be my first pump so I am just trying to find out if the value is there as the seller has informed me.

You also mention it is a Wayne 60 narrow. What does narrow mean? Size?

Are you comfortable w/ asking price?
These pumps haven't been made for 75+ years, IF you pass on this one, you MIGHT not ever find another as nice or close to your area [UN-less Dave's Garage decides to sell a Few!].

In Canada that's a fair and a good price for a narrow body Wayne 60. Go buy it!

Thank you for the opinions. I saw another post talking about the value of Wayne 70 gas pumps and was worried this one might be over priced.

I think I'll be buying this one as the price seems fair for what's actually there?

Comparing a 70 to a 60 , might as well be comparing a $1 note to a $2 note or a 22cal to a 38cal.

Apples and oranges...totally different pumps. In terms of numbers made and value.

Waited a day too long as it's no longer available. I'll keep looking I guess. Thanks for the replies everyone.
