Hey all,
Newb here. I'm recently remodeling/decorating my 2-car garage. I'm thinking of possibly adding an old pump as a centerpiece. I know *NOTHING* about antique pumps other than they're pretty cool. I looked at this one today, but have no idea if it's a good buy from either a price or condition standpoint. Was hoping some "old hands" here could let me know what might be a fair buying price and even if it's worth buying it at all. Thanks in advance! Here's a photobucket album.

It is missing the back door and related trim.

Tell us what the asking price is and you'll get opinions on whether that is a good deal.

I saw that pump in person and passed on it a few weeks ago. The seller was stuck at $750 and didn't believe me when I kept insisting that there should be another door. He was convinced that it came that way and was made to go up against a wall...what can you do?

It doesn't have any of the trim strips and is also a non-ad glass model which to me kind of makes it but ugly...... think I would wait for a better one unless this one is priced incredibly low.

Here is one with the ad glass to me it makes it a much better looking pump.

I would pass, as there is too much wrong with this pump. A hard to find, good door will cost you around $125.00 plus shipping? The unit seems to have been cobbled together? Not worth the time, in my opinion . Paul www.severngaspumps.com

Thanks for your help everyone. I knew it would be "too good to be true" to find a worthy pump this close to my home on my first trip out. So is the pump not really worth the trouble at any price? Say $500?

He was asking $800. Says he paid $1,400 for is a year ago. If so sucks for him.

I'm no rocket surgeon, but even I knew that back door was no good. What does a correct back door look like? Is it flat like the one pictured, but with rounded corners at the top...or is it sort of a "bubble" front like the front door, but without the cutout for the computer?

Pass & wait for a better pump.
This pump has a Newer style nozzle & Repop Fire-Chief pump plate also.

BOTH Doors look the SAME, But like HuskyBob said it's Missing ALL SS TRIM [Repop Trim is available, but not doors].

SHAME on seller. It MIGHT have been a Nicely Painted Pump WHEN he bought it, BUT it has been setting Outside for several years Deteriorating. He doesn't deserve to be compensated for lack of Protection on his Investment.
