My husband has an old Champion spark plug cleaner with a date of December 1949 on the inside of it. Does anyone have any information that may be helpful. He is trying to restore it and has no clue how it operates. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi kmaple,

If my memory serves, your spark plug cleaner is really a small sand blaster. It uses short blasts of shop provided compressed air to spray the firing end of the plug with a sand grit like a fine sand blasting abrasive.
These were tricky in that too much could erode the plug's porcelain or electrode and ruin the plug. Just a little was enough.
