I have an all original gas pump that I want to restore. Looking for reading material on this subject. I'm thinking of gutting most of the insides to make it lighter and more managable. Is this advised from a value standpoint?

At Vic's Place, we custom or spec restore anywhere from 5-10 pumps monthly. Every single one of these is gutted from the start, unless it's a visible which has to have it's pump to accomodate the pump handle.
From our experience, gutting an electric to restore it only adds value since it makes the pump lighter and cleaner for the end user. Also, we carry anything you need to restore your pump...from pump faces to decals to hoses to globes, we're your one-stop shop. Thanks, Seth/Vic's
