so to break with the image of "bad member" I just want to share this post with you
For transport, oil cans used to be transported in wood crates, usually they are just blank wood with stamped logos on the side, in Europe we received also those crates but bigger ones were also used and they were painted on the sided and sometimes two tin signs were nailed on front and back, the design of those crates were made for transport but wee used to be placed next to the gas pump as a piece of advertising, that's why many of them can be founded in pcitures next to gas pumps
you can see one texaco on those pictures
usually we can find often those blank crates
but those ones are harder to find in good condition, those were used in France and Belgium
