My wife grew up in Newport Beach, CA, and lately has been in a group on Facebook called "I Grew up in Newport Beach, Before it was the O.C."

Lots of old pictures and interesting stories. I'm not sure this one has been posted here before or not. This station was at Pacific Coast Highway and Old Newport Boulevard. It was built in the 1920's.

The Arches was a gas station and a restaurant. Not sure when the original gas station was torn down, but the current Arches restaurant relocated down the road about 7 or 8 years ago. I believe it's currently closed, but it operated for about 90 years.

seen the newer building, architecture doesn't come close to the older establishment.. cool

Love the original station...and would LOVE to have one of those Keesee pumps...
