I've owned 5 Willys hot rods and used to try to find any of the original Willys signs and I've had quite a few. I'd question this piece as I've never seen one and it's just too perfect. I could be wrong

My first impression on the sign.... overdone.
Secondly, when you study the font on the sign and compare it to original advertised fonts from the day there are many discrepancies that show how little the creator of this fake understands that time.
Those of you who have been around 50 or more years know that the early 20th century was a time when all such work was done at the hands of meticulous individuals who had been professionally trained and had pride in their craft. Advertising of the day was a high art, and this included signage. Anyone running a business would want exactly what they ordered, would have proofed the designs and would not accept anything less than what they approved. So many of the fakes we see when viewed in this light show that lack of pride on the creators behalf.

You are absolutely correct. If one goes back and looks at the detail with a critical eye, it is a sophomoric design job with absolutely pathetic attention to detail and quality. Looks like a badly taped paint job using cheap tape where the paint runs underneath the edges of the tape. The paint on the back looks as if it is lifting due to contact with a solvent.

Seller has removed the sign. Either they had no idea it was fake or got enough feedback to remove it.
