I've had this old original for many years. Anyone who
By Savinsam has looked at it, including myself, cannot figure out what the object is that the attendant is showing the motorist. The first thing that comes to mind is an early transistor radio, but this photo is in the 1930's. What's your guess? Sam

I can't even figure out what the gas pump is, let alone what he has in his hand. But I will say this, I hope he doesn't plan on going too far on that spare tire, it looks like it has lasted as far as it will go.

Love that straw hat, I have about three of them, love wearing them and thinking how great it must have been back in the 1930s.

It's a Camera.
Doc may recognize the brand.
Leica (pronounced Lika) was one of the first 35mm camera makers, 1925. This does not look exactly like their early models. It could be a Leica I.
See page two on this old camera website.

I would say if it isn't a camera it could be a hearing aid...They used to be that size back then.

Jack, the original photo is a little clearer. The closest pump is a double Erie with Pennzip & Pennzip Ethyl globes. Other pump has Sunoco globe.
