IMO, You got the much better end of the transaction!

The Flying V can was made and sold in approx 1956-57, right after the merger...

The Flying A can is from the early to mid 60s, right before Tidewater sold their "West Coast Interests"...

An easy way to tell; is on the back... On the "older can"... The Cities of San Fran, Houston, Tulsa and NY are named ... On the "newer can"... Just LA and NY are noted....

The Flying V can is more valuable and Collectable...

If this happened to me, I would jumping for joy...

...I think you ought to try to get the other can as well, and have both...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Randy,I had heard that before... But, I have a couple that aren't dated ...

My Flying V and my large diamond star-burst Veedol (5 gal cans) both are not dated... They have the "triple C" stamp of Continental Can and nothing else...

See..... Mean old Bob is full of great info. Thanks for that bit of knowledge as to dating the can. I will check tomorrow to see if there is a date on the can. I would love to have both cans but I think this is more about principle and an attempt to keep sellers on eBay accountable for some of the things they try to pull. If it was a mistake then ok, we all make those.......
I still haven't heard back from the seller but did open a case via eBay.
We will see what happens..

Looking for Johnson anything and Ca gas signs and ?
