Picked this up from Ebay…Shell Ladies restroom sign. I liked the condition a lot. Also a Viscoyl oil bottle from a fellow Oldgasser, it's a local brand from Golden Tip Gasoline.

Here are a few of the items that I have picked up recently; haven’t posted in a while been working on some larger neon’s for the collection. The Marathon sign came from a lady who had inherited from her father, he owned the sign for 60 years and obtained it when he was asked to dismantle a Marathon Station in the 50’s. United Motors original Key Box; ISO VIS sign was made into a shelf at a bulk plant at one point in it’s life, saved from being scrapped.

The price of a nice clean Wayne 60 seems to surprise me every time I get involved with buying one! LOL
I drove about 500 miles to an auction in southern Minnesota on Saturday to buy this pump and thought my odds were good!
There were 3 county fairs within 60 miles that day, and there was a big old time car and tractor show about 30 miles away, so I thought that an old Wayne 60 gas pump that wasn't advertised a lot, would be easy pickings!! LOL
I hadn't been at the sale for more than 30 minutes when another Old Gasser tapped me on the shoulder to say HI! I knew what he was there for and he was just as surprised to see me! We talked at lengths about the pump and when it got to auction time, he decided I was after it a lot more serious than he was, since I had driven 500 miles and was darned serious about taking it home. To make a long story short, he let me have it without bidding me up, but that doesn't mean it was cheap! The general public seems to like these pumps an awful lot too and really made me pay for it!!
After the dust settled, the other Old Gasser was kind enough to help me load the beast so that I could get on my way and get northbound! Its great to know a bunch of the Old Gas community and get help from others! Thank you Shayne!!!
Heres the pump!

I did a quick trip to Calgary and back on Friday and Saturday. It had a bit of everything thrown in: some buying, selling, trading, and even got to see a few good friends and a couple of great collections. These are the signs I brought back. The vertical porcelain Dunlop is 1933 and the horizontal tin Dunlop is 1931. Does anyone know how the Seiberling was displayed? I thought at first with the two holes along the one side that it had a bolt-on flange but with all the edge chipping maybe it is more likely to have had a frame around it. Cheers, Don.

Few things to show off

Was able to get another billups lens to make a complete set again after we did some trading with one lens and mounted them in the red ripple we picked up in Iowa.

Also got this lens in the mail this past week

Great buys everyone!

Picked up this early pair of non-fired lenses at Iowa Gas a few weeks ago and got around to putting them in an old rusty body. Would make a cool old globe for the top of a rusty old visible pump, especially if your name is Bryan!

Thanks

Just got back from Chicago yesterday from rescuing this globe and brought it back to Wyoming where it belongs. Also bought this Cliff Bryce globe several months ago from a fellow old gasser but haven't posted it until now. Mitch

Here's a couple of pumps that I had delivered at Iowa. I just found the time to unload them from the trailer a couple of days ago.

Ya might notice that the right pump is a Tydol Factory Build . . .

Later . . .

Working in Saskatchewan I did some hunting, picked a couple of old Imperial tins up. I was working on a globe deal for about a year and it panned out, a nice one piece baked British American Motor globe. He had a sign downstairs I bought while there,36" BA. He told me he had more stuff that he would dig up and call me. Ted

Yes, I was tickled to get it, but by the time you add in 1000 miles of gasoline, room at the Holiday Inn, and a Minnesota speeding ticket for 20mph over(I was in a 55)
Well I don't think the pump was very cheap! LOL
Don't know how much the ticket was yet, Minnesota doesn't tell you right away!

I haven't posted here in a a few weeks. here are my buys: Kyso 13.5" wide glass, Diamond bank, marathon sewing kit, shell patches, bell ethyl matchbook to go with my globe, gilmore matchbook cover, and another cool bell matchbook cover. I will have some more things coming. Including a collection of 528 matchbook covers. Cool thing about the Kyso is that Katfish sold me the globe awhile back, but I got a message when he got the check, here is a quote... "Noah,We got your check today.Thank You, Now for the crazy news!We are going to send your check back and send you the globe also.I am sending it out Monday and I hope you enjoy it,you seem like a nice guy.If it makes it and you like it all you owe for it is if you find some old maps or something small like that you can send it to Bobby's son Hayden who is 5 and loves this stuff also.Take Care Shorty"
I love guys like this! They are very nice, and are great guys to deal with!! Enjoy!!!!

Here are a few things I picked up lately for the museum and for myself. First I finally was able to get a motor-meter for our 1925 Chevy Superior touring car.
Just scored this Chevron Attendant hat off of Ebay for the display as well as the Veedol 5 gallon can. I was really happy to pick up two 15 1/2" Covey Globe reproductions that were produced this year, one for me and one for the museum. I have had a couple of good months. Thanks for everyone's help who have steered me in the right directions.

Nice MOTO-METER, WJH. Is that NOS, re-chrome or reproduction. Looks perfect.

Hello, they are both reproductions. I got the motor-meter and the wings on Ebay from a GM Reproduction company and the base for it all I picked up on internet. It was the best I could do and much cheaper than an original. Soon we will be able to use the car in parades.
