Anyone know what brand that ligth is offhand? I though Revere but couldnt find a name.

This was going to be a BOTW but a combination of poor packing by the seller and shipping gorillas did it in. Ive been known to glue lenses back together but ths is beyond me! I guess everyone's Shell globes just got a fraction of a percent rarer.

The mechanic's 'step stool' came to me from Nebraska, but was used in a gas station near my hometown. Central Electric later became Central Battery and was a Cities Service station run by a man named Charlie Bell who could fix anything put before him. He also had a farm amd a stash of cars I was privileged enough to visit when I was in high school. Sadly, by the time I returned years later Charlie and the cars were history.

I picked up this Red Crown Gasoline sign today. 30 inch DSP. The one side I have not cleaned yet. The second side was all covered in spots, paint or cement or?? Took all afternoon, a couple SOS pads and a few beers to get the spots off. One of the bigger spots took over 600 "Back and forths" with an SOS pad to get it off. (Yes, I counted) As far as I can tell, the signs is from Standard of Ohio, which later became Sohio. When Standard was broke up, they became Standard of Ohio, New Jersey, Indiana, Nebraska, California, Kentucky and Louisiana, plus possibly some I missed. I think the sign dates from 1928-1930 but I may be wrong as this sign doesn't have a Dinosaur on it...

It still has some rust staining to it. At first I thought of hitting it with some Muriatic acid to clean it but the more I scrubbed on it, the better it looks. Great color/ gloss and very heavy shelving. I do not want to jack it up so I will probably keep trying the elbow grease to get the rust off off

I bought this nice Whitaker cables display from Dennis Leith! Since I have a bathroom in my shop, I put a Whitaker Cabinet up to hold supplies!
These 2 Whitaker signs add a lot to the look in the room and really add to the cabinet!
Thanks a lot Dennis!

The Beatles did Rubber Soul, Goodyear...the rubber sole. Found these Neolite rubber "thin heel lifts" in the porcelain tea cups in an antique shop. And thought what the heck might as well buy them

Yes, on East Pine. I think is the street-at the end of the street was the old Cadillac dealership and West Brothers (later Roadway) Trucking. Across from Central Battery was Komp Equipment.

I remember very well Central Battery smile For decades they kept the Cities Service green exterior. Everything about Central Battery screamed "service station". They had several pumps in a recessed fueling bay.

Unfortunately, Central Battery was torn down, as well as several other buildings on Pine St.

Exactly. It was almost like a dark hole. Mr. Charlie Bell could fix anything. My friend's father owned N&H electronics, which was about 2 doors down. This was in the 70's. The old Barq's distribution center was in the same block-they still had 56 Ford delivery trucks that had been mothballed for later use. They looked brand new in the late 60's and early 70's..
