 First pump I have bought in two years. The price was right and it is a clean pump. I have already tore it down and wet sanded and clear coated. I will post more pictures when I finish it

Why don't I ever find these things? Are these true finds or ebay buys? You're in an area that is much older and way more populated than Mississippi so you might want to change your tactics. None of mine came from eBay. I recently started selling and advertising that I buy on Craigslist. It has made a distinct difference.

Well for some reason I have not tried the ad to buy on craigslist. Does this really work? Everything else I find either the price is through the roof or its destroyed. Just getting harder to find things these days.

Well. over the past couple of months I've had 3 people contact me from CL-the first netted a Gill bodied and a glass Capco Texaco, the second a rare/scarce Cities Service Ethyl, and the third netted a 42" Texaco and a 42" Pan-Am, several smalls, and 5 globes, one of which was a Lion. That's in a state with a small, low income, population.
Going to antique malls and word of mouth was getting me nowhere and we only have one worthwhile show a year and no swap meets.
That may have been my lifetime allotment used up in a couple of months, but at least it materialized.

A few years back, I bought 2 Tok 39's off a farm that was rented to a guy I know. Several years pass, and I run into him at an auction sale, and he asks me why I didn't buy the pump that was sitting in his Quonset? I was pretty puzzled and asked him to explain, and he told me that it was there when I bought the other 2 pumps and he wondered why I hadn't bought it too?
I told him that it was never mentioned and I asked if the farm owner still owned the pump. Since he did, I called him the next day and bought it on a bet since my friend had described it to me. I was worried what I might have purchased until I drove up and found this old Wayne 851 in pretty darn good condition! All the bezels and light shades were in great shape, and one of the lamp shades still had the original mesh screen that stopped critters from getting in! Funniest part is that I was 50 feet away from it about 5 years ago and didn't even know it existed! LOL
I sold one of these about 7 years ago and have regretted it ever since, so I think this one gets to stay!
