Nice pumps.

But, I have to still ask why? Why not post these Buys in Doc's BOTW? They are every Sunday. Have been for years...

Every Member who takes on one of the "Showcase Threads" works damn hard at it... If one doesn't believe it, then "step up to the plate and host a COTM", sometime...

It would really be nice, if Members would support those "who are actually" keeping the site, up and running!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No comparison of the 2, BOTW & COTM or what it takes to Host them.

Nice pumps, Mantiquers. Whether they be in the BOTW thread or in a separate thread, thanks for posting your finds.

I do agree with Bob though that the "Showcase threads" need to/should be supported.

Although, I do not see how hard it is to "host" the BOTW thread nor why there has to be a host for it. Is only one person allowed to start a thread every Sunday asking people to post their finds for the week? Seems to me that ANYONE could do that. What else does the job entail?

No offense to Doc... honestly. Just wondering why it needs a host and why it is Doc's thread.

Following protocol tends to keep things more organized in the areas of both time and space.

The answer is simple and yet obvious. smile
I was given the opportunity to HOST the BOTW weekly thread in 2004 which is when it officially started. As a new guy to Oldgas.com, I took the responsibility of starting the BOTW thread every Sunday night with a Unique banner to kick off the thread. Going into it's 10th year (soon), the BOTW thread has always been successful.

Not once has Jim or any of the moderators asked me to step down and let someone else do it. I believe I was asked once by a member a few years ago if they could take ahold of my BOTW duties and I wasn't ready. Maybe someday...maybe not. smile

Not to hi-jack this thread and steer it back on course of course...Nice Pumps Bill (and by no means am I upset that you made your own thread to show off your BUYS! It's happened before...not an issue with me) smile

Ahhh... thanks for clearing that up, Doc.

Yes, the answer is simple and yet obvious... there is no NEED for a host, only that it is tradition (???) to have one person, and only one person, start the BOTW thread every week. And... that it's OK with you that people post their buys elsewhere, but it should be known that it is protocol that they should post in your BOTW thread.

Hmmm... never knew that.

Here, I always thought it was a CHOICE for members to post their buys however they see fit. Whether it be in the BOTW thread or in a seperate thread of their liking. Now I not it is not the case.

I've been a member here since '07, and had been a lurker here for many years before that, and have always read the BOTW thread. Only, I've always looked at the items people post. I have to admit, it is with great regret that I have to say that I've always scrolled past your opening post with the unique banners. I've always known they are there. Just never really paid much attention to them, like most people, I'm sure. I will in the future though. Sorry for being a dick. From now on, I'll try and pay more attention to the unique banners.
