For some odd reason this is my favorite piece. It is a original oil painting done by Jerry Denison who used to work for us in the 70s during the summer. He majored in art at South Dakota State and later became a cryptographer for the Federal Government. It is a artists rendering of the rear hatch of a Standard Oil 1500 gallon bulk delivery truck. I believe the truck was from the late 50s to early 60s.I get a kick out of it everytime I look at it wondering what kind of life this guy led where he was possessed to paint this. Glad he took the time for sure lol. It measures 3'x4' so it is kind of hard to miss. I would love to see any other Gas related art if anyone has something. Hope you like it as much as me,Marc (Picture was painted in'75)

You're thinking about the other gas station painting. As soon I a remember how to copy the link I will...

Your's is great BTW. Is that raw canvas I see on the bottom or masking tape. If it's masking tape and the painting is on paper, you probably can get it mounted on an acid free board by a frame shop to get the wrinkles out.

BTW Marc--like the tumbled rustiness that your artist captured!

Here is my gas related art. It is oil on canvas. It was painted by the sister of an oldgas/pitstop member. One day I was doing gas pump image surfing and found the photo the painting was modeled after.

Love the art work! Thanks to all who have posted. Here's my favorite. I first saw this in an old TEXACO station and later found a smaller version of it on Ebay by searching the artist, Jack Schmitt.
Thanks,
Rod van Pelt

"Lucky Stars" 1980 one on Ebay now if you are interested. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lucky-Stars-by-J...=item20d42319ab
He also has many other gas station prints on ebay now.

Looking to buy or trade old gas station memorabilia such as pumps, globes, cans, signs, free give-aways, S&P shakers etc. from the 20s-60s.
