Very nice Mark! The paint undoubtedly protected it somewhat!

Is that a porcelain sign? If not what did you use to clean it off?

Thanks for the compliments! It is porcelain and I used a gel type paint stripper and a razor blade to get most of it off. Then steel wool and soap. Then buffed and waxed. It took some time!

That does look great and thanx for sharing your process and work with us Mark! A question tho, did the stripper take off some of the 'shine' or clear coat?, and if it did, did you get it back with the polishing? I clean a lot of signs up and have always steered clear of the strippers because of that worry but I also worry about the cleaners that I do use because they are pretty harsh. Thanx in advance if you know.

I actually use a glue stipper used for floors. I spread it on and wait a little bit and hose it off. Then I use some steal wool to clean up some spots after it drys I polish it up. Works great. I always try it on a small corner or the opposite side of a two sided sign just to be safe before I try it all over the sign.
