Just got this can. What year about and was that the right lid for it? And are these hard to find? Thanks

The only thing I can find is this can on the right from "Collecting Oil Cans" book. Although the text/product is different, it appears to have the same basic graphic/color scheme, and the book puts it at 1958.
Your can has that "68" on it. This graphic/color scheme could have run for some time. Someone else would have to clarify that for us. I do not know. But I hope that helps a little.
