This Week I purchased and disassembled my first Pump out of the Original Location ....
It´s a SHELL ( Scheidt & Bachmann ) from 1962 and it was on Duty until 1987 supplying Tractors with Diesel inside a huge Hothousecompany near Cologne, Germany....
To me it is interesting to have the first Piece that is really complete inside incl. original Lamp,Screens and attached manual Pumplever for Emergency inside.
Greetings from germany
Andy

( Restoration already started but not yet finished... )

I noticed two different manufacturers in the dispenser posts you made . I'm curious as to what differences there are between the Shell and Arial . Ed Shaver

Yes Ed
Even if they look basicly the same there are at least 3 Mainmanufacturers over here that ruled the market of the fifties ( I´m focussed on )
-Gilbarco ( Gilbert & Barker )
-Scheidt & Bachmann
-Schwelmer Eisenwerke

Hey Nicole from Maryland !!!!
( how unusual that a Lady is collecting such stupid stuff -lol )

I´m not sure but i thought because of the safety regulations over here it should have been used outside with that big Tank were it was mounted at......
The Owners told me that it was stored inside there ( first Picture with tank ) from 1987 until I picked it up...
The whole Pump has no Piece of Rust but i guess when they set it up in 1962 it was already used some years outside because one side is kinda worn out from the sun plus in 1962 brandnew pumps already had another shape and got smaller already....
