About 3 years ago, I bought this Husky globe at the Matthews auction at Iowa Gas, and I really liked it, but it only had one lens. I've had some dealings with Old Gasser --Les Towner out in Hamilton, Montana and I knew he had the single that I needed. I kept putting it off as long as I could, but I finally emailed him about 2 weeks ago and made a deal for the lens and body. My globe is now complete and sits back up on its perch in my office, where I get to look at it a lot! Thanks for the sale LES! The Falconol sign is something I bought on Fee Bay. Its an embossed sign with good graphics and it was in NOS condition with the paper marks still on the sign. It cleaned up real well, and I'm trying to decide where in the shop to hang it!

Picked up a good load of parts and parts pumps out in Missouri. The Bennett 76 is a keeper for my Sinclair collection, it has a cast iron top, never seen one. Tom.

Still out there... Watched a country web auction and got an old sign pole 16' tall with 5.5' sign bracket for the price of $67.31 with a cash discount. needs alittle TLC of welding on a new platform base but straight and solid. Used to be what looks like Sinclair green with tan painted over the top.
Thanks Mike

First oil cans I have ever bought. Got these and a lot of Harley-Davidson literature and items at an auction this week. Purchased a few boxed lots and was surprised when I got home and started pulling cans out.

found a lot of good car parts at the Portland swap meet but just a few gas items. That white thing is a dirty 12.5 inch cylinder, the Olds signs only have the blue paint flaked off luckily, the rest is stuck nicely. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Slightly worn Cities service therm. Slightly worn Billups bottle. Slightly worn 12 inch frame which I bought for the base, but now cannot bear to cut it up. Also bought a Super Dixie sign which wound up being fake (it's the one on the right). Due diligence was not performed by myself on that one.

Hello All, Well I'm finally able to post a pic of my BOTW, and probably my buy of the year as well. This Mobilheat Stove Oil globe is a pretty rare bird and when it appeard on Ebay I knew I would have to step up to own it. The globe was in upper lower Michigan, a bit over 4 hours away, so I contacted the seller who turned out to be a great guy. I told him due to the rarity I didn't want the globe shipped and could we work out a plan to meet to pick it up. Turns out he was going to be in Lansing the same weekend I was so we met last Sunday and sealed the deal. It's the only one I've ever seen sell. The globe books say the unlined horse was made for a glass body, but this one is definately notched for a Capco. The original body was shot so I put the lenses in an NOS original and it looks nice. At least I think so, lol. Kevin also brought me the 1951 Mobiloil chart, which looks good on the wall. Some may have also seen that week before last I had a man who brought me some items from a local jobber that started out as Hi-Speed in 1933, went throught all the mergers, Pure and Union 76, and is still in business. He started working there in 1972 and had the pesky task of cleaning out bulk plants and other buildings for the company. I was pleased to get the set of Hi-Speed Diesel lenses, which are pretty rare too. When cleaning out a building he found an original wood crate of lenses, these were the only duplicates he had left. The signs are NOS as well, with super day one shine. I like them because they are local, even though they were never used at a station or on a pump. Have a good one all, Darin

My first buy for quite a while - it is a one piece Texaco blown at the factory in Sweden in the original molds, but at some later occasion. Just started to outline the star to get some paint on it - what do you think - should I leave the outline of the "T" unpainted to let the light through or paint it black? br Claes

A few signs that I acquired recently; Firestone was less than a mile from my house...who knew...its over 8' wide; not in the best condition but couldn't say no on the price; should clean up nicely.....if signs were bought per square inch it was a "Heck of of a Buy"
Buying: Polarine / Red Crown Gasoline Globes and Signs, Early Chevrolet & United Motors Signs, and 1910's through 1940's Gas & Oil Signs.

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Hi, thanks for your response! The globes were IMO painted like the ones in the US, but I was referring to the edge of the "T", you know "Black T" or no black outline of the "T" - guess it would make the light shine through in a nice way? br Claes

Got the box. Most likely taking an end off. Best way for me to display it. Before you purist get your panties in a bunch I won't separate from the rest. I'll stick it on a shelf in my warehouse and maybe someone will put it back together in the future.

Its been a while since I posted so here are some of our buys from the last few weeks.. The first is a KILLER spark plug display i picked up at Mason Dixon Gas.. Its a double but it's something I don't mind having two of! Thanks to a good friend I was able to pick it up. The second is a small double sided porcelain Auto paint sign.. I'm not sure the vintage of this sign but I'm thinking 30's? The 5 gallon was a great find, it's from a small local oil company we don't find much stuff from. Enjoy Keith
