That's cool. Appears to be canvas over a steel frame.

Could be canvas, I'm thinking sheet metal though.

Here's a pic (albeit blurry) from another angle...

Looks like a West Coast 212. Anybody have one of those? Good ideas for paint jobs also.

That's what I'm thinking, Craig. Here's another shot of the pumps. Can't tell if the first/closest one has the BLIMP label or not...

Here's a shot of the "round" bodied pumps, two of which are BLIMP labeled. Jack's book lists them as 1934/35, but I believe they were out at the same time or earlier. I'm not the pump guru though. wink

Man I hope someone saved one of those blimps somewhere! I know I would have hid them if I owned the station and was told to take them down.
The pumps look to have different basses. The top pic has indents and the other pics are smooth around???
The whole station is very nice in the top pic.

Even back then most people didn't know the difference between a Blimp & a Dirigible!
http://www.airships.net/dirigible
A member [in Oregon] here bought a WESTCO pump a few years ago out of Northern Calif. But sold it a few years later to another member east of the Mississippi River.

According to the website, Blimps are Dirigibles...

"Blimps like the Goodyear blimp, rigid airships like the Hindenburg, and semi-rigid airships like the Zeppelin NT are all dirigibles."
