I have found a 1940-1945 Bennett 541 that appears to have been used by Phillips 66. It has the 66 shield decal on both doors which appear to have been white. The skirts were green. It is hard to tell because it has been painted red at one point over everything. Can anyone tell me what paint scheme was used for this pump as well as what globe. If anyone has old pictures of a pump like this please let me know.

[QUOTE] Dear archimedes, are you shure that the pump was origionally a 66 pump? I have a bennett 371 and a 541 and both are for sinclair. in fact I have never seen a bennett pump not used for sinclair. As far as paint goes try to get a repo or origional globe for 66 first, then go to a local automotive shop. Ive restored a 66 and you will have to get the paint mixed since it is not a common color. the out side andtop should be orange anfd the doors black. if you need any parts go to www.gaspump.com ask for ron. good lud

Just to let you know, Bennett sold pumps to everyone, not just to Sinclair. While Sinclair was a large purchaer I have seen pictures in National Petroleum News of Bennett pumps being used by just about every oil company. Also, remember, if you owned the station, you were responsibe for buying your own pumps, and you could buy them from anyone.

Yes, Jack is right. I have a Bennett 766 that is an original Shell pump.

in thy presence is fulness of joy;
