After much internal strife and help from several Oldgassers (you guys know who you are), I finally got this Parco etched globe home. Now I have to decide what to do with it, paint restoration or leave as is. The latter is my immediate plan until I have more education on such matters. It turned out to be much nicer than I thought it would be with the flea bite on the base the only mark on it. I know it's not a super rare find or all that valuable compared to some, but I had a blast going after it,making the deal, and finally adding it to my collection........Gary

Thanks, Mark. I knew there had to be some other Oldgassers that saw it. I was a little surprised I wasn't too slow on the draw to get it, as I usually am...Gary

Thanks for the link, Mitch. That is pretty amazing that a company could be that strong and influential for a while and then go broke a short time later. Especially since the commodity they got rich on was still there and a successor continued to prosper. It's always been management that makes or breaks a business, some things never change. I'd like to find some good pictures of Parco stations to see the pumps and signs they used. Shoot, I might as well build a Parco pump to display the globe on now.......Gary
