After cleaning snow off a roof this morning I noticed dirt stuck to the bottom of my ladder. That got me thinking. So I got some gear together & headed over to my spot. Strange how soft the ground is for this time of year. Only about five inches on top is frozen. Once I broke threw & got under the freeze it was easy digging. Got a small pile of random rust and a few cool finds I brought home. The Texaco lock made by my entire day! I have it soaking in evap-o-rust now. The glass oil bottles are the first & only ones I have! Their cool but no name on them anywhere. I'm thinking oil sample bottles?

Love the Texaco lock! Yes, those look like oil sample bottles.
Good way to start the new year! I can't wait to see what you dig up in 2013!

Excellent finds...

If I may hazard a guess? It looks to me as if 2013 might be as good to you, as 2012.... Where it comes to finding vintage Gas and Oil items in your "magic" dig...

That lock is really cool what would it use be. I know for locking stuff up. But did it have a specific use at the station. And do all gas stations have them.

Hunt long and hard the good stuff still out there.

Cool finds Jeremy!

I too was scoping out a couple old fallen duck farm buildings. was wondering if under all that lumber could there be a minty (when cleaned) L.I. DUCKLING SIGN!
guess i'll never know......

I think I'm finding pump parts DB! A couple caps that say Wayne on them...one minute I'll post a photo. I keep sniffing the oil in that one bottle.LMAO Smells like gear oil. Some H20 did get in over time.

I went crazy with the photos but maybe someone can identify theses parts? I know enough to save ANYTHING thats says Wayne on it...just in case! The thing in the third photo has Feb,4,1913 stamped on it.
