The first station has been gone about fifteen years now. I remember going there to get the tubes patched in the tires of my BMX back in the early 90s.LOL The second one is still in use not as a gas station but a county store. It's still called Tallons. The road behind him leads straight into Canada. That area is full of history...prohibition era being my favorite.

I had never really looked at this thread that much, but it is really cool. I went back to the first of the thread and saw this picture and knew that it looked familiar. It is the Frank Lloyd Wright designed station in Cloquet, MN just southwest of Duluth. I have been going by that station on the way to our cabin in Canada every year for over thirty years! It is on highway 33 that runs through town. It has been a landmark there for years and is supposed to be the only cantilever roofed, Frank Lloyd Wright designed, filling station in the world....just so ya know.....Gary

First picture with the horse in the truck. That's interesting; How they rigged up a bracket and off set the Mobilgas globe so it would clear the canopy.
