Ok -- for those of you that have been wodering what my class and I have been up to, this is it:

The Erie 71 got put on hold for a few months because the school principal came dragging this Gilbarco 96B in and asked if my class could restore it for him. His father in law was the Conoco bulk distributor in our area and I guess he used this pump.

I was happy to take a break from the Erie 71 and do this pump because it was going to be quick and the kids could actually see a start to finish project happen. The guys in the picture did all the teardown, prepping, polishing, body work, and some of the painting process.

Now it is back to the Erie 71. We have one door left to prime, then all the wet sanding, then painting, and finally re-assembly. We will have it done easily by the end of the school year. Thanks again for all of your support.

Chris

P.S. -- I want everyone to know that NONE of the donated parts, materials, and supplies for the Erie 71 were used on this pump. It was completely financed by the school principal.

Chris, your students did an excellent job!

I look forward to seeing photos of the Erie when you folks complete it!...

I wish I had had Teachers like you when I was in High School... I can't imagine that there are too many days where one is "just going through the motion" in your classes...

Looks great! You could have your own gas pump restoration sweat shop rolling there in no time. Let me know when you need some pumps. I would happy to have a few restored!
