I have only been collecting for about a year(and on a budget). All of the cans I found at a local scrap yard and bought for scrap prices, along with the fina piece and the wheel and tire. The mobil sign was being used as a roof on someones shed. The other pieces were just laying out in fields, I couldnt pass them up on the prices they wanted just to get rid of them.

Spencer, many of us started out the same way at collecting this stuff. One of my first signs was a 6" 1950's Gulf porcelain that was covering an old water well. Man insisted that he had to have $6.00 for it. It was painted over with brown latex paint which came off real easy. Underneath was a perfect beautifully colored sign on both sides. Keep lookin'! (Love the tailgate idea!

I agree with every one else on the tail gate and I like the little Wayne M S 80 pump and the old wheel and light also.
Keep up the the good work, and keep looking. No telling what's still out their.

I met Cody for lunch today. A super nice and enthusiastic young collector trying to learn what he can, and pick what he can, while getting a family going.
Great meeting you, Kody Carson
