Hi
I have a vintage 42" Tydol Two sign, image is on both sides, that I wish to sell. I haven't seen too many of these for sale. My guess is there aren't too many around. There are some rust circles on both sides but nothing is through and the lettering is good.
Any suggestions for a starting price??

Here are photos of the sign, in question.... It is an early Tide Water Oil as evidenced by the logo....

I'm not up on sign values, so I will leave the estimates to others.....

Honestly putting it on Ebay... seems a smart idea, to me. Especially when new and/or non Collectors are paying top dollar.....

With the crazy bidding going on.... Why would someone not be interested in making more money than an Experienced Collector might offer?

I'm sure more than 1 Member has already contacted her with offers.......

Sorry if I've offended anyone out there. Just wanted to get a starting point for the sale of this sign.

I do realize there are serious collectors out there that can restore this piece and display it in their own collection.

There were 2 replies to my post that wanted to see the pics of the sign and Bob was nice enough to help me out with posting. No offers were made -- so my next step was to post it on Ebay.

I have not done this yet and would like this piece to go to someone that would buy it for their own collection of course.

I want to thank Bob for sticking up for me on this one but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it now.

First thing you need to do is clean it up. Take some 0000 steel wool and cleaner wax and work it over. Then a person can tell more about the sign.

I've listed my sign on Ebay this evening. Listing number is #290805345793. Bid starts at 150.00. I will not close this auction early.

I want to thank everyone at Oldgas who responded to my questions about this old sign. Keep up the good work so these relics live on.

You need to list the size of the sign in your eBay listing.

Can this be shipped any cheaper ?

The calcualted price is not always right. Have it listed to ship with UPS ground shippment calculated to buyers mailing address. The prices quoted are not always exact through the site for some reason but I will not charge you anymore than I am charged. I will send the difference via personnal check.
